Manure Management

The National Organic Program has specific rules on manure management, which are summarized concisely in MOSES' Guidebook for Organic Certification in this section. NOP also has detailed rules on the production of compost for use in organic production. Manure that is not composted according to NOP rules is considered raw manure and must follow those regulations.

This section provides resources on manure management for organic producers. It also features general information on manure management, the nutrient content of different manures, composting guides and more.
